Information, biography and profile of Rukia Kuchiki, the Shinigami who transferred her powers to Ichigo which triggers the very start of this entire series.

Rukia Kuchiki was brought up from one of the poorer districts in Soul Society. She was abandoned since young by her older sister, Hisana. Her early life revolved around the company she kept, which included Renji Abarai. They grew up together stealing water for survival and opting to join the Shinigami together for a better life.
During her days in the Shinigami academy, Rukia was adopted into the noble clan of Byakuya Kuchiki. This was made possible due to a last request by Byakuya’s bedridden wife before she passed away, which turns out to be Rukia’s older sister, Hisana.
With this powerful connection, Rukia managed to acquire an early graduation and was assigned to the 13th Division under Captain Jushiro Ukitake. In the 13th Division, Rukia formed a strong bond with the Kaien Shiba, the 13th Division Lieutenant. Kaien was a great leader and a true friend towards Rukia. At the same time, Rukia respected for Kaien’s wife as a role model in grace, beauty and duty. One day, Kaien’s wife and subordinates were killed by a Hollow which has the ability to possess human body. Kaien went all out to seek revenge, only to get his own body possessed in the event. Eventually, Rukia was forced to eliminate her Lieutenant, and this tragic experience has been kept deep within and haunting her for many years. Rukia was extremely guilty and emotionally afraid in facing the Kaien’s family for an apology.
The anime started long after the tragic past of Rukia, where she was tasked to guard Karakura Town. On a faithful night in Karakura Town, Ichigo’s house was assaulted by a Hollow, and that was when the fate of these two person collided. Rukia was severely injured whilst trying to protect Ichigo and offered to transfer her Shinigami powers to him. Since that very day, Rukia decided to move into Ichigo’s place to recuperate her powers, at the same time, act as a guide for Ichigo who agreed to become Rukia’s substitute Shinigami.

i think rukia should end up with renji, because she lightens up around him you can tell that shes comfortable and i personally dont see that with ichigo and her yes theres a definite STRONG understanding, but i love how rukia is around Renji doesnt anyone see it. Shes more fun and outgoing its cute GO RENJi. :]

There’s not much info about her personality..
To all the people that call her cold, you clearly havent watched the episodes well. Look past the mocking, look past the seriousness, and read between the lines. She and Ichigo, are by far, 2 of the most caring characters I have ever seen in any anime, and for some reason, they are both seen as mean and cold, by people who dont read between the lines.
I strongly dislike Orihime. She’s very plain and selfish. There isn’t much to her, and she isnt “real”. I can relate to Matsumoto and Rukia however. Both show different sides to them, mean and nice, mature and immature.
Rukia is kind, serious, immature, mature, childish, wise, and many other things. But by no means, is she cold.

i also prefer rukia than orihime. not that she is bad or what but rukia’s personality is the one i like. brave, cool, and intelligent and also she think other people more than herself which makes her character more lovely. very hope that she ended with ichigo. i like seeing them in scene. i see that ichigo also have feeling for her though he never said that but it is show from his attitude when everytime it is about rukia…^^

I have to say, your information here is good, it just has to be a little more organized lets say, but other then that; Rukia is one of my favorite characters in Bleach. Now I know in many places that Rukia is critisied for not supposebly caring, but Rukia does care for her friends, gives good advice, and gives people strengh to stand up. So maybe she’s dence to the probability of Renji having feelings for her, but she can’t help it if she’s dence and has grown up around boys all her life, another thing is that if she has feelings for Ichigo and not Renji; that dosent mean she’s a bad person. Rukia can have feelings for whoever she wants. Rukia is usually open to help out any one, and is her own character. I posted this comment because I’m tired of people saying she an uncaring jerk! Watch the episodes againg and see what a truly caring person she is. Rukia compared to Orihime is much kinder, not as selfish as Orihime, who I admit to not liking, but knowing that she’s kind to in her ways.

Rukia is absolute uncool character. She is always cold and play the smart one. she doesn’t have feelings for anything, she doesn’t understand how Renji feel about her and she seems that she don’t care about him at all.. for cry at loud they grow up together but in the end she is always by Ichigo’s site. My friends thing that the best way to like Rukia is just when something happen to Renji or her brother she will step in and protect them from death and in the end we all gone remember her like a good warrior as she always wanted.
